TRANSLATION
Over the past decade, the Board has had to face an increase in legislative responsibility along with directives for significant economic restraint. This has caused challenges to the Board's limited resources.
As a result, the Board has had to examine and ultimately eliminate its provision of multilingual translation services. The Board is able to offer interpretation for its mediation and adjudication for the French language only.
Parties who require the services of an interpreter for a language other than French are directed to contact any of the translation and interpretation companies in the yellow pages or on the internet to secure the services they require. Parties are expected to cover the cost of such services on their own.
Interpreters will be asked to affirm their knowledge of English and the other language, and their commitment to provide accurate and reliable translation of the Board's proceedings, including verbatim interpretation of a witness's testimony.
